Mt Nelson is supported by, and is supportive of the local community and is active in environmental education and awareness.
Our school provides a caring, secure and stimulating environment in which there is mutual respect and trust among students, teachers and parents.
The school believes that parent participation and involvement in the education of children is very important. Parents participate in many aspects of the school's activities.

 

Equity and Social Justice
At Mt Nelson we believe that all students are entitled to have equal access to all educational opportunities. This means we enable students to participate and achieve to the best of their abilities.

Mt. Nelson School has several teams participating in the annual Tournament of the Minds

he core of our school's education program covering the eight key learning areas as addressed in the National Curriculum Statements.

 

Our school performs above average in state literacy and numeracy tests, and performs in the top percentile in national competitions.
